CP, BP. 22.6 MM Sliding Door Push Lock

A mild steel aldrop is a type of door latch or bolt commonly used in household and commercial settings. It is an essential hardware component that provides security by keeping doors and gates securely closed. The term "aldrop" is commonly used in South Asian countries, particularly in India, to refer to this type of latch.

Here's a description of a typical mild steel aldrop:

1. Material: The aldrop is made from mild steel, which is a low-carbon steel alloy known for its durability and strength. Mild steel is a popular choice for this application due to its affordability and ease of manufacturing.
2. Design: The aldrop usually has an elongated "L" shape, similar to an L-shaped bracket, but with a latch mechanism. One arm of the L serves as the handle or lever, while the other arm acts as the bolt or latch.
3. Function: When the handle is lifted or turned, the bolt is retracted, allowing the door or gate to open. When the handle is released, the bolt extends into the strike plate or keeper, securing the door or gate in a closed position.
4. Mounting: The aldrop is typically surface-mounted on the door or gate, with screws or bolts securing it in place. It is essential to ensure proper alignment and installation for smooth operation.
5. Finishing: To protect the mild steel from corrosion and enhance its appearance, the aldrop may have a protective coating or finish, such as galvanization, powder coating, or painting.
6. Sizes: Mild steel aldrops come in various sizes to accommodate different door and gate thicknesses. Common sizes include 6 inches, 8 inches, 10 inches, and so on.

Mild steel aldrops are widely used in homes, offices, and commercial establishments to secure doors, gates, and shutters. They are simple, effective, and reliable devices that provide basic security and privacy. Additionally, they are relatively easy to install and maintain, making them a popular choice for various applications.
